This is the latest Mannysub reel design for 2024.
The new reel not only looks amazing but works and functions exceptionally well too.  A solid reel made for big fish.
The reel is machined from a solid block of delrin, with our logo completely cut out to lighten it and give it our signature. Features one of the best and smoothest adjustable drags available in the market and a stainless sleeve line guide.
The retractable handle makes it a lot easier and quicker to wind all the line back into the spool. The handle extends and clicks back in place using an innovative system consisting of 4 spring loaded ball bearings that allows it to click back in place nice and easily.
Unlike many other reels where the nylon spool spins on the stainless bolt causing it to overheat on fast swimming pelagics, with the potential scenario of seizing up and causing the loss of your speargun the problem has now been fixed. On this particular reel design the middle section of the delrin nylon spool, features two bronze bushes that spin on the main stainless bolt. This allows the spool to spin smoother and not overheat under stress on the stainless bolt and eliminate the potential to seize up.
The reel large spool measures 100 x 60mm OD and will fit approx 75 metres/248 feet of the Mannysub 2mm stiff dyneema or 100 metres /330 feet of 1.7mm stiff dyneema.
The mounting plate will suit a round barrel varying from 28 to 31MM OD. The clever design of the mounting plate with two flat 4mm strips on the edges will allow it to also be mounted on any flat surfaces such as wooden spearguns or cuttle fish shape carbon barrels. Last but not least, the rear of the mounting bracket is perfectly rounded designed to accomodate pre tension dyneema lines, perfect for a single or double roller gun.
This reel is designed for all reef species shot in deep water to large size pelagics where a large line capacity is really needed on species like mackerel, wahoo and similar.
